Welcome to the Exchange! ☆

| October 13, 2010

The best ideas are born of collaboration. Thus, it should come as no surprise that the original idea for the The Exchange arose from a late-night conversation between colleagues and friends. When 150 members of the extended Social-Organizational Psychology community gathered in the Cowin Center Auditorium on October 13, 2010, those of us at Teachers College had hoped it was the start of something bigger, something meant to provide a forum for a vital exchange of ideas about group and organizational life.

In many ways, the events of that October 13th evening were the direct result of that earlier conversation and our collective drive to imagine for ourselves a vibrant intellectual and professional community of scholar-practitioners. For what it’s worth, creating and starting this blog is the result of similar conversations and motivations that we saw occurring between and among all of you.

Together, we hope we can use this space to continue those conversations even after the event is over.
